You Never Studied Algorithms—So Why Are You Letting Them Run Your Life?

Let’s talk facts.
Most of us never went to school to study algorithms. We didn’t sit in a classroom learning how social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube are programmed. We weren’t in those high-level meetings where proprietary information was shared to design the algorithm in the first place.
So here’s the question:
How are you suddenly an expert?
You scroll a little, hear a guru on TikTok say “just post 3 times a day,” and now you think you’ve cracked the code?
Nah. Let’s cut through the fluff.
Algorithm (In Plain English)?

An algorithm is just a set of rules.
It decides what gets seen, when, and by who.
That’s it.
Every social media platform has one. And it’s constantly analyzing:
What type of content you’re posting
How people are reacting to it (likes, comments, shares, watch time)
How consistent you are
How your audience behaves
You’re not shadowbanned.
You’re just not playing the game right.
Word of Mouth Will Not Grow Your Business
We gotta stop lying to ourselves.
Yes, word of mouth is nice. It feels good when someone recommends you. But word of mouth is not a marketing strategy.
You cannot scale your business on hope and handshakes.
That’s not marketing. That’s luck.
If people can’t find you, can’t engage with you, and can’t understand what you offer from your content, you don’t have a brand. You have a hobby.
Most People Aren’t Running Businesses—They’re Chasing Paychecks
Here’s where it gets deep…
If your whole strategy is “How can I get paid?” you’re thinking like an employee. That’s a 9-to-5 mindset.
Business owners don’t wake up asking how to get paid.
They ask, “What problem can I solve today?”
Because when you solve a problem, the money follows.
If all you’re doing is thinking about how to get paid, then you’re not thinking about how to attract, retain, or serve your customer. And guess what?
Marketing is how people find out you even exist.
You Never Studied Algorithms. So Why Not Hire a Company That Did?
Let me say it again for the people in the back:
You were not in the room when Facebook designed its algorithm. You didn’t sit in with TikTok’s engineers. You don’t know how YouTube prioritizes content. So stop acting like you do just because you saw a viral video or followed a trending sound.
If you truly want to grow your business, your mindset needs to shift:
Stop chasing the next sale.
Start studying what drives traffic, conversion, and retention.
Or better yet, work with a company that already understands this.
Because the algorithm isn’t your enemy—it’s just exposing the flaws in your strategy.
Learn, Don’t Guess.
Social media isn’t magic.
It’s math, psychology, and strategy. And if you didn’t study it, don’t fake it.
Stop copying what you think works, and start building a foundation that actually does.
This community is here to teach. But learning only works if you’re done guessing.
Let’s get to work.
Algorithm is nothing more than algebra. A mathematical equation. If you have the formula, you can solve the problem. Great Breakdown Of That MAC…
